The PBSAP M&E and Investment Platform was developed to monitor the implementation of the Philippine Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (PBSAP). It aims to track progress, sources, and amounts of financing, and provide feedback on the financial resources contributing to biodiversity targets. The platform also promotes transparency and accountability in investments towards biodiversity.

Project Overview

As a UI/UX designer, my main goal for this web application is to highlight and promote various biodiversity projects across the Philippines. The platform is designed to enhance transparency in project reporting for both government and non-government agencies and to attract potential investors who can support these initiatives.

Design Process

Our design process began with thorough research and requirements gathering. We conducted workshops and discussions with key stakeholders to understand user needs and system requirements, while also analyzing the existing PBSAP framework and evaluation matrices. This initial phase ensured that we had a clear understanding of the project’s objectives and the needs of its users.

Next, we moved on to information architecture, developing use case diagrams and data flow diagrams to map out system elements and user interactions. This included designing a process flow for national and regional PBSAP evaluations, ensuring all aspects of the platform were well-structured and user-friendly.

User flow for PBSAP

With a solid foundation in place, we proceeded to wireframing and prototyping. We created wireframes for key pages, including the homepage, target dashboard, PH map, project details, and user account management. These prototypes allowed us to visualize user journeys and interactions, laying the groundwork for a seamless user experience.

Reflections

The PBSAP M&E and Investment Platform exemplifies a successful integration of technology in environmental conservation efforts. By prioritizing user experience and leveraging data management solutions, the platform has significantly advanced the monitoring and evaluation of biodiversity initiatives in the Philippines.
